Why we built it
Real stories from our family.
Our daughter
She read only picture books and comics through Year 3 and was falling behind at school. Tutors kept saying the same thing: more reading, more vocabulary. Nothing clicked until we followed her interest in the Warcraft world. Starting with comics, she moved to the Warcraft novels and, within a couple of terms, her English and vocabulary improved dramatically. Today she's excelling academically and preparing for senior school — and My Next Book is the tool we're building to support her VCE journey.
Our son
He wasn't a reader in Year 2. The Warcraft novels that worked for his sister didn't resonate with him. We tried a science-adventure series that matched his curiosity, and that was his gateway. Once the habit formed, he progressed to authors like John Flanagan and Rick Riordan and is now among the top students in his class.
Most children don't dislike reading. They just haven't found the right book. Our mission is simple: use AI to identify the books a child will actually enjoy, then guide them to titles that quietly build vocabulary, confidence and curriculum skills. — R.G. & W.P.
